A Visit to Istanbul Gelisim University from the Vice Rector of the Agricultural University of Tirana


As part of the Erasmus+ KA171 Staff Mobility Program, Prof. Dr. Ilir Kapaj, Vice Rector of the Agricultural University of Tirana (AUT), one of Albania’s most established higher education institutions, visited Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU). The Erasmus+ KA171 International Credit Mobility Project is a program that aims to enhance learning and teaching opportunities in higher education through cooperation with countries outside Europe. This visit, which was organized within the scope of the Erasmus+ KA171 Project, is the first staff mobility from Albania hosted by IGU.


As part of the Erasmus+ KA171 Staff Mobility Program, Prof. Dr. Ilir Kapaj, Vice Rector of the Agricultural University of Tirana (AUT), one of Albania’s most established higher education institutions, visited Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU). Founded in 1951 in the capital city of Tirana, the Agricultural University of Tirana is one of the oldest and most prestigious higher education institutions in the country, offering undergraduate and graduate programs in agricultural sciences, food technologies, environmental engineering, and economics. During his visit, Prof. Dr. Ilir Kapaj held a series of meetings at Istanbul Gelisim University. As part of the visit, the welcome meeting was attended by IGU Rector Prof. Dr. Bahri Şahin, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Necmettin Maraşlı, International Exchange and Cooperation Coordinator Alisa Usubova, IECO Specialist Mehmet Emir Çetinberk, and Assistant Specialist Yaren Ergenç.
 
Cooperation and Exchange Programs Discussed
During the meeting, academic collaboration opportunities between the two universities, student and staff exchanges, and potential bilateral agreements for the future were discussed. At the end of the meeting, a certificate of appreciation was presented to Prof. Dr. Ilir Kapaj in commemoration of his visit.
 
IGU’s Global Collaboration Network Expands

Istanbul Gelisim University continues to expand its global partnerships, engaging in active collaborations with universities from various regions including the United States, Canada, and Japan, as well as countries such as Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Indonesia, South Korea, Georgia, Kosovo, Ukraine, Jordan, and Albania. These partnerships include student and academic staff exchanges, joint projects and research activities, and contribute to the sharing of academic knowledge as well as to the strengthening cultural interaction.

Thanks to its ever-expanding international connections, Istanbul Gelisim University continues to offer its students and academics a globally integrated educational environment.
