Associate Professor Dr. Jay Behnam from Osaka University Visited IGU


On December 25, 2024, Associate Professor Dr. Jay Behnam from Osaka University visited Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) to discuss the Erasmus+ KA171 program. During the visit, meetings were held with UDIO-K officials and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Necmettin Maraşlı.

Osaka University, one of Japan's leading national research institutions, has been renowned for its achievements in fields such as engineering, medicine, natural sciences, and social sciences since 1931. With 11 faculties, 16 graduate schools, and state-of-the-art research centers, the university holds a prominent position in international academic collaboration. It is also recognized for its industry partnerships and innovation-focused projects, standing out in research areas.
 
As part of the ongoing discussions under the KA171 program, information was exchanged, and the details of the program were reviewed. The administrative operational differences at Osaka University were also evaluated.
 
Following the meeting, it was emphasized that efforts should focus on developing long-term collaboration opportunities between the two universities. Academic staff exchanges, joint research projects, and cultural exchange activities were highlighted as key areas for potential cooperation. Such partnerships were noted to offer valuable opportunities for both students and faculty members.
 
During the visit, IGU's laboratories, research centers, and social facilities were introduced. IGU’s vision for internationalization and its achievements in Erasmus+ projects were highlighted as a strong foundation for collaboration. Additionally, Japan's innovative approach to education and strong research culture were recognized as significant resources for mutual learning and growth.
