Istanbul Gelisim University Signs Cooperation Agreement with Bath Spa University


On October 16, 2025, Pro-Vice-Chancellor John Strachan from Bath Spa University, United Kingdom, visited Istanbul Gelisim University. During the visit, the collaboration opportunities between the two universities were evaluated, and discussions were held on potential joint projects within the framework of exchange programs.


On October 16, 2025, Pro-Vice-Chancellor John Strachan from Bath Spa University, United Kingdom, visited Istanbul Gelisim University. During the visit, the collaboration opportunities between the two universities were evaluated, and discussions were held on potential joint projects within the framework of exchange programs.

Bath Spa University, founded in 1852 as Bath School of Art and gaining university status in 2005, is located in the city of Bath, England. The university offers education and conducts research in fields such as arts, design, education, social sciences, and business. With campuses at Newton Park, Bath, and London, Bath Spa University is recognized for its strong academic staff in creative disciplines and its innovative teaching methods.

During the visit, meetings were held with Prof. Dr. Bahri Şahin, Rector; Prof. Dr. Necmettin Maraşlı, Vice-Rector (Research and Development); and Prof. Dr. Seyfettin Arda Öztürkcan, Vice-Rector (Quality, Accreditation and Internationalization). In these discussions, both universities exchanged ideas on collaborations that would enhance educational quality, strengthen research capacity, and enrich international experiences.

At the conclusion of the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed, officially formalizing the academic collaboration between the two universities. This agreement significantly contributes to expanding Istanbul Gelisim University’s international cooperation network, promoting global engagement for its academic staff, and providing students with greater opportunities for international experiences. Furthermore, it lays the foundation for sustainable cooperation through future joint research projects, seminars, and cultural activities between the two institutions.
